Not PubCast #40

by Travis
Ugh…I’ve made several attempts to record pubcast #40 - a discussion on the relationship between an author and her characters - and there’s something wrong with my sound.  I tried to fix a problem with sound on my Audio Hijack program by deleting a few files from the “Library.”  Apparently, I deleted one too [...]

A favourite Passage

By Matthew
I’ve been asking myself if there are any parts of Rowling’s writing that are, to me, particularly good or at least noteworthy from her usual.

The Repeating History of Dumbledore

When we first meet young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I believe J.K. Rowling is wording descriptions of events with it in mind for us to see similarities between Tom Riddle and Harry. But now that we know the end of the story, and now that we know more about Dumbledore himself, I have lately been thinking more about similarities between Tom Riddle and Gellert Grindelwald.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix DVD Contest

On November 13, 2007, Warner Bros started a contest to promote the coming out of the dvd Harry Potter and the order of the pheonix. On their website, harrypotter.com http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/sweepstakes/ you are able to win a contest, which consists of a grand prize to actually go onto the movie site, and not only get to meet all of the cast members, but also you the winner will become an extra in the next movie Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince. This contest ends January 3, 2008.

No matter who gets picked they will be a very lucky person, that is if they get picked. There has been a problem with the website that I really don’t think that WB knows about. No one and I mean no one can sign in. The whole idea is that you get to sign in two places. The first place on harrypotter.com which you can only sign in once a day, and Facebook.Com http://facebook.com which you can sign in 20 times a day. You get on facebook but I really don’t actually see how you can because there is only a few things to do. But they do have a lot of people who have thousands of points, at least they claim they do. But once you email one of those people to introduce yourself so that you can get to know other harry potter fans, they never email you back.
